Hi All..have recently bought airfix 1:24 scale Mosquito, a really nice model. I want to use the 487 option..but..I want D day stripes..and the rockets on the wing option (with bombs in bombay as well! I have read that the Mossie had the power to fly with this payload but did they?
I know that during D-day 487 were tasked with pinpoint strike operations but of which sort I am not sure.
The plane used by airfix is that of the 487 strike on Amien, the brave crew being lost to a German Fighter, can anyone tell me the serial number of a 487 plane that flew on strike missions with the 2nd T.A.C during D day?..alot to ask but I really want to make this model special and I want to use the 487 colours in respect of all the brave Anzacs who gallantly fought for Britain and the free world in ww2(and ww1)..cheers guys.,.,
