Hi All,
Hope you are well.
I have a project I am doing some conceptual work on at the minute and am looking at the waste management from the project.
So one for all you DGSA's out there, how do I classify steelwork contaminated with hydrocarbon and pyrophoric material? I have read the legislation that states pyrophoric material is UN1383, N.O.S but is this the same for metal contaminated with the substance. The European waste code is 17 04 09* metal waste contaminated with dangerous substances, but at what level is it deemed to be 'contaminated' is it a percentage of surface area etc? There after if I have established its contaminated how do I assign a UN number so I can apply subsequent transport regs?
Bit of a jumbled one, but basically looking at transfering these contaminated items from site and need to classify it and apply correct regulations under ADR. Any help would be appreciated.

Best rgds,
Darren Nicol.
