RC circuit

Hi!
I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this question. If I have a diode and a resistor in series, it rectifies well. However as the frequency increases, the output amplitude decreases, and it seems that the output has an offset. It seems to me that the diode has an internal capacitance. The response of the circuit improves if I use a smaller resistor. I'm looking for information about it, but I haven't found anything. I would really appreciate is someone knows something about it.
Thanks
