Jacobita
Hello everybody
I'm planning to make an Anomalocaris canadensis model, but while reaserching about it, several questions arose. I would highly appreciate it if someone could
shed some light these things.
On the "Anomalocaris Homepage" I found the following information:
"Sclerotized mouthparts and grasping appendages; body is 'naked', smooth-surfaced without visible trunk annulation or external segmentation; no apparent external gill-like strucktures; no body ornamentation or raised features of any kind; 13 pairs of lateral lobes; no jointed trunk appendages, and posterodorsal 'fantail' finlets arranged en echelon."
- Does this mean that only the mouthparts and the grasping appendages were sclerotized?
- Were the grasping appendages segmented?
- Was the body smooth and soft? Like a slug?
- The lateral lobes and the faintail were also soft?
- how were the lateral lobes and the faintail jointed to the trunk?
I'm looking forward to hear from you :-).
Thank you very much, Jacobita
