Hello everybody.
I found a "FX4 London Taxi" for sale here in South Africa, and was wondering if anybody could assist me in determining what year model it is.
The only information i have is a VIN No:FX4DR40720X and Engine No:TD27045947. (2178cc Diesel)
I believe when they talk about the VIN No they also refer to it as the Chassis no.
The vehicle has a manual transmission and i believe that was only introduces in the early 60's.
It also has the long teardrop brake lights which came with the "facelift" in the late 60's. In which year did they change of to the plastic dashboard? And in which year did the side mirrors move to the doors instead of the front wheel arches?
I would appreciate any information that anyone out there could supply.
