Hello, My name is Raven and on a recent garage sale endeavor i came across an interesting object. A mummified hamadryas baboon. It is a small one so i am assuming it is a baby. But when i asked the man "What is this" he replied simply "5 dollars" So i bought it and brought it home where i have been trying to find out more about it. The man was very elderly and had many things from other countries I have found out the in ancient Egypt they would have a hamadryas as the earth bound embodiment of the god Thoth a male/female who when in male form took the form of a hamadryas and when in female was a Ibis refereed to as Seshat. I have found out that he was a rather important deity. He was often considered as the heart, which, according to the ancient Egyptians, is the seat of intelligence or the mind, and tongue of the sun god Ra; as well as the means by which Ra's will was translated into speech.
