I have watched almost every movie that was made back in the 1930's and 1940's. I have several that I consider masterpieces. But Humphrey Bogart's character in The Treasure of Sierra Madre tops them all. There are few characters in any movie that are so good that it is as if the movie Gods put the whole thing together. James Stewart in It's a Wonderful life is a good example. Clint Eastwood in The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly is another example. And Tom Hanks in Forest Gump is up on the list also. But the planets lined up just right when Bogart portrays a money hungry psycho in the desert of Mexico. This movie is a masterpiece.
