Why did you not touch our wounds before we tremble and shake
Why did you not touch our wounds before lives were at stake
Why did you not touch our wounds before our tears filled deaths lake
As thunder sneaked under our feet deporting daybreak

R.I.P. over the rainbow
Many of our names you do not know
Thousands of Haitian spirits no where to go
Shaken and broken still alive down below

Strong wills very driven
Breaths of air God is giving
Buried alive still living
Waiting to be pulled from this prison

What hurts us now hurts you more
A thing called love overflows hearts door
A shield against pain empowering the poor
A sigh of relief approaching our shore

Children’s eyes in hope of an Angel
Awakened with four limbs one of them mangled
Where are you mommy are you entangled
A fortune of families this calamity has strangled

Strong wills very driven
Breaths of air God is giving
Buried alive still living
Waiting to be pulled from this prison

So amazing these songs of our souls
From under the rubble faith stories are told
Money from millions measure a new mold
People of America good as gold

Like a war of words fiercely intense
Invisible the impact profoundly making since
The tearing down to build a better fence
Against the doom that deluded Port Au Prince

Strong wills very driven
Breaths of air God is giving
Buried alive still living
Waiting to be pulled from this prison
