An old photo shows 23 men dressed in their best. Eight are wearing robes. All have a fringed "collar" which is fastened at the bottom (near the waist) with a medallion.

According to local historian, the photo is dated 1915 to 1916.

Middendorf Community is located in Chesterfield County, SC on # 1 Hwy, an impoverished area which suffered through the Great Depression and never fully recovered.
