HI EVERY ONE.
question 1 has any one experianced a compounding effect when flying a multi bladed VAWT, such bas six wings, we have encountered some strange anomalies.
We have designed several machines over the years, our latest machine has 6 laminar wings 2500mm long with a 480mm cord swept area of 6.7mt at 10mt per second we develope better than 10kwatts which causes quiet a lot of questions.
If we use the bet,s limit says this is impossible yet we run in to a simple resistive load so there should be no reactive components what so ever.
We have built machines up to 50kwatts to date, nouralternator is a good old PM 72 over 80 poles we achive our 10kwatts at 50mrpm, we use no gear box (direct drive)
It has been sugested that at some point the "magnum effect" comes in and the c"ompounding effect", the torque is phenominal at 50 rpm it has been independantly calculated to develope over 1000 Neuton meters, and has quiet happly twisted off 50mm drive shaft.
Look forward to any one who can come up with a explanation or has experianced similar results, not the angle of attack is very critical.
