Hello everyone,
I was acting Postmaster at Gwalia in 1962 and was there for about twelve months. I lived in the Community Hotel for a few months, then moved into the Postmaster's residence which was next to the Post Office. When I first went to Gwalia I had a black Austin A30 and then was a proud owner of a green 1953 Vauxhall Velox. I played in the Gwalia football team at left half back and Keith Biggs played at centre half back. The postal officers I worked with at the Post Office included Alec Marendoli, Terry Long and Michael Weston. I often went to Leonora on a Saturday afternoon and played social tennis.
