I would hope that Ebony still recognizes Black pioneers in all fields of endeavor, including within the area of education..In 1969 an African American student group, the Black Students Psychological Association interupted the annual meeting of the American Psychological Association, in Washington D.C...This marked the first time in the organization's 77 year history that an APA meeting was physically disrupted..As a result of the efforts of the BSPA, For the firThis st time in the history of this country a Black student minority organization successfully caucused a majority social science organization and received funds to open national offices to: 1.Recruit significantly greater numbers of Black undergraduate and graduate students in the field of psychology and encourage Black high school students to enter the field of psychology..2.
