Outside of the obvious (they could)what attracted drew a master to have sex with his slaves slaves. He already had absolute power, the brutality inflicted ensured they knew exactly who was in control of their lives. So why increase the level of brutality inflicted by degrading the women. It certainly did not help their position with the males slaves, who were driven to reliation when they discovered their women had been abused.

Most black women, slide in to society in a way their male brothers cannot...why even today is it easier for a black women to be accepted than a black male. Why is the women considered less of a threat to society to the white culture than the male. Why are both white sexes less afraid of the women than they are of the women?
