I am a resident of Ghodbunder Road Thane. Ghodbunder Road, as we know is the most important and emerging East west corridor which connects Thane to Borivali. Township has flourished on this route in the past and it has resulted in heavy traffic problems.
In the Phase II of Mumbai Metro, Ghatkopar to Mulund Metro corridor has been planned. Looking at the requirement of the city, it can be very well extended to Ghodbunder road. There are enormous residents on the Route who cannot access railway station easily and have to rely on the buses. Ghodbunder road is also one of the emerging areas of the city which has giant townships such as Vasant vihar, Hiranandani Estate, Hiranandani Meadows and many more. Recently BRTS service has been implemented on this route till Hiranandani Estate and it is a huge success. Even if the Metro rail is taken till Hiranandani Meadows or Waghbil Naka, it would highly benefit the commuters. There are two service roads coming up on Ghodbunder road on either side and there are already two service roads on Eastern Express Highway. If one of those service roads are used on both the roads for the construction of Metro Railway or Mono Rail, It would change the scenario drastically. It would also connect the interiors of Thane city as well. Covering the Eastern Express Highway and Ghodbunder Road will mean connecting the entire Thane City with proper Mumbai. Even there is an opportunity for connection of East to west by Metro Railway. Thane to Borivali can be connected by Metro rail. This will also facilitate the connectivity to Navi Mumbai which is of prime importance now as the International Airport is coming up at Nerul.
I hope my voice will be heard.

Thank you
