Does anyone know of an Icelandic folklore story where a man goes to give a present to his neighbour but as his neighbour isn't at home at the time he leaves the present at his neighbours doorstep. When his neighbour returns home to discover the gift that was left for him without him being there to thank the giver of the gift he flies into a rage and goes off, tracks down the man who left him the present and kills him with his axe.
This is all I know of the story, I'm interested in learning more of the details, names and places, when and what the present might have been etc. The story was told to me by a person from Iceland I met in Paris and I love the story.

Or if you could point me in the right direction at all I'd be very grateful.

Many thanks
