Does anyone have any information on bareknuckle prizefighter Tim Collins a top lightweight contender around 1868. I hold a record of his fights, however I would like to know of any reports on these fights both in England and America and any details of his life away from fighting plus details of his growing years if possible. Thanks.

Hi, I am sure that Tim Collins was in a issue of the boxing News a number of years ago when they were coveing Old Time Fighters. If you email them I am sure they could put you in contact with someone who will be able to give you details on him.

All the very best

Hi Simon

Sorry I have been so long in answering your email only I have not been on this site for months as I have been concentrating on my efforts to get two boxing books together on the subject of the bareknuckle prizefighting era in England. Thanks for your advice though and just before sending you this apologetic email I contacted Boxing News on Tim Collins so am now awaiting a reply. If you want to contact my website with any queries about the books or questions about the boxers of this era there is a comments page where you can contact me, just type in bareknuckleprizefighting.com and then click on the 18th & 19th Century Prize Fighting site. Anyway thanks again for your advice.
