I don't know of any studies, but you can bet the farm that there is a very good reason why shielding and good ground are very important in protecting electronics. I have learned the hard way to turn off or not to run my electrostatic generators around electronics. I have learned that the RF produced by the spark will and can really upset things like TV's, PC's and even radio trancievers. I don't even want to think what the electronic circuits would be like if they were exposed to a direct electrostatic discharge even with my small Wimshurst generator (70K).
