Consider the two elementary reactions below. Why is the Arrhenius pre-exponential factor (Q) in the expression for k1 so much larger than the Arrhenius pre-exponential factor in the expression for k2? Explain in terms of the physical meaning of the numbers.

CH3CH2O = CH3 + CH2=O
k1=2 x 1013 e(-40000 J/mole/RT)

CH3CH2O + O2 → CH3CH=O + HO2
k2=8 x 10-15 e(-1600 J/mole/RT)
