Concentration span conditioning by 12 minute program segments.

Personal observation of my concentration span being seriously reduced by watching National Geographic Channel and Discovery Channel programs on FOXTEL for 12 months.

The effect of this reduction of concentration span was to make watching programs on other FOXTEL channels, where the program segments were longer than 12 minutes (the typical length of National Geographic and Discovery Channel program segments) difficult and unsettling. Watching an uninterrupted program on ABC-TV at friends house aroused my suspicions to altered concentration span, I would get restless in a cyclic pattern throughout the program, once every 13 to 15 minutes.

This shortening of concentration span by introduced conditioning may well be hazardous, in that car-driving and aircraft flying concentration may be impaired, leading to accident.

You should limit yourself to watching only three to five hours of Monty Python's Flying Circus, on the television weekly....Or if the situation persist's, abstain from watching the Boob-Tube once and for all....You might take up book reading in the parlor, and using smoke signals, instead of the telephone, for safety reason's....
