Can you confirm whether the area in the top right hand corner of the Madaba map (Jerusalem Mosaic) has been covered over during the Umayyad period (Muslim occupation of Medaba) to remove any mosaics of Jesus and the site of his crucifixion or does it represent an area damaged by earthquakes and covered in by some other material to stop further deterioration of the surrounding mosaics.
Additionally are the areas around the fishing boats depicted in the Dead Sea been obliterated during the iconoclastic period by Muslims to remove any trace of human representation and/or reference to Jesus and his disciples as recorded in the Gospel accounts?
