Yes, there was a USAAF shoudn't have bombed the monestary becasue it turned it into the perfect defensive position because of all the ruble and the german commander was ordered not to occupy it until it was destroyed by the allied artilery and airforces destroyed it. as well as that there aws no natural cover so the poles and the british were massecered on that hill. it the high command had found it nessecery to issue the body armor that the troops that invaded normandy (check it out) got then there would have been a lot fewer casalties. the body armor absorbes the impact of a bullet and crumples and you would wear it on your chest. also the importance of the troops used to fight this battle was very important because the poles were pissed at the germans and they had a lot of scores to because the german gestapo and the SS randomly murdered polish families because their husbands were belived to be fighting with the FPF (free polish forces) settle and the british just all were mad at the germans becasue of the blitz and as well as that the particular regiment they chose for that attack was from a city called coventry that was bombed so bad that the luftwaffle for the rest of the war to completly destroy a city was to conentrize it.(check that out to)
