Yes. Eistein was a genius in physics and related matters, but there have been people in history that have been geniuses in other areas of intelligence, and multiple areas of intelligence.

Examples: Leonardo di Vinci - art, science, anatomy, aeronautics, weaponry

Emmanual Kant: philosophy

John Locke: Human rights

Adam Smith: Economics

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: music

Thomas Jefferson: Freedom, diplomacy and agriculture

These are just a few off the top of my head. There are many types and areas of intelligence. Just because Eistein lived in the 20th Century and his knowledge led to the atomic bomb, we think of him as THE genius. There were many before him and there will be more after him, providing the planet survives.

People from many countries seem to participate in this site. Maybe the person's first language is not English, but is doing his or her best.

However, I have a more fundamental problem with the post. Alexander the Great was a purveyor of war. I find no genius in that pursuit.

Amen to that!

anyway, if you want genius of war, I would have to go with SunTzu...his work is kind of definitive and to me, definitive describes genius

I would also say that the work of a genius can usually be applied to many fields, not just the original one. That's what makes Leonardo so great...he applied his genius to many many things and it often helped people specializing in those other fields to consider Leonardo's work or opinion.

Individual geniuses are rare but there is a lot of genius in the world. For example, the mayan calendar. Definitely a work of genius but perhaps no individual genius was involved. So perhaps another way to describe genius is a total or sum that is greater than its parts.

People in the Pentagon should be required to Sun Tzu. Maybe they would act accordingly and not engage in unwinnable wars.

I greatly disagree, there is genius as opposed to mediocrity in all human endeavors , and many warriors, regardless of right or wrong have
been considered military genius!

Believe me, the Pentagon is not losing these wars, it's our civilian leadership that has dealt our military these "stalemate"
conflicts! If the Pentagon had the ultimate say in our military
operations they would actually destroy the enemy, while at the same time giving American casualties preference over the enemy!

I wanted to say one important thing to you that that albert enstein havent thought that he was genius he knows what he is doing he know what he is. he knows his passion and one important thing he knows is that for being genius their is not any disturbance in brain he once said " to be a perfect science student always ask questions" and one similar thing in all geniuses is that they see the world not from their eyes only but also thruogh the eyes of nature. one last and brilliant thing i have seen in genuis is that if they are sleeping on road or are very poor than also they have passion to know the world and to know the mind of """""""""""god"""""""

Facinating definitions of genius. I have seen genius in the simplest of people with even the poorest of education. If you bind genius in definitions of education or narrow view points you will miss the point every time. Genious is life, living and seeing what is around you.

Every person has own capacity and ability different from others. This makes the world go on from time to time until consumation of ages, our mind is the slave of our hearth.
What hearth dictates is the thing in mind, therefore we work on it.

Theorist made theory with a must, no disturbance in mind. But my theory serves as disturbance in my everyday survival in life, disclosure of it lead the path for having peace of mind.
