As i was growing up we always had a story of a member of the family received a letter from America that Roger had died and the family been old stock at that time threw the letter in the fire because they belived it was bad money and blood money, i done a small bit of research and i found out that our name was spelt Touhy not Tuohy the way we spell it now to hide the fact that a member of the Tuohy family ran away to the states leaving his wife and kids behind him in Tipperery Ireland, just went to the shop and never came home .she moved then to cork city , Ireland in shame that her husband left her and the kids, where we still live, She lost two children to the disease TB, one of the sons which survived later got married and started my line of (Tuohys)My father is Roger, my granfather was Roger, i am Roger and so is my son called Roger Tuohy.
