I live in Northern Illinois, near the gentleman mentioned in
Outdoor Illinois, Ed Sorenson. Because our area is loaded
with lakes,marshes and swamp, for me it is easy to imagine
the weather on November 11, 1940. This month has been much
the same as 60 some years ago. I guess the hunters on that
fateful day, just forgot common sense. Great article in
