Am I missing something?
If the speed of light is 186,282 mph in vacuum, and the asteroid belt is (roughly) 157M miles from Earth, that means it takes light about 35 days to get here from there.
Is this right?

The speed is miles per second and the first part of the equation is a distance of 670 times of a distance of a round trip earth to sun distance.
