De Havilland Albatross
Adhesives in aircraft construction

Adhesives were used in aircraft construction from the early days. However, the DH91 Albatross was one of the first large, composite (though mainly wood), monocoque aircraft. The techniques of construction, we are told, led to the Mosquito, but the Mosquito fuselage was moulded on solid formers (concrete, I believe). This would not have been practicable for an aircraft of the DH91's size.
Three questions: 1. How was the fuselage formed and assembled? 2. What adhesives were used? 3. What measures were taken to weather-proof the structure and limit moisture adsorption?
