How would you know if you did?

There are so many different trajectories to our movement through space our best and fastest computers could not accurately define our position even nearly close enough to "find" a point in space to stop at. This is probably because if you could stop at a precise point in space, the principles underwriting your existence/presence in space/time would break down, and you would find yourself in some strange state that was not subject to either space or time. But space/time arise in consciousness, and thus they are subject to consciousness. Therefore, as we evolve to maturity in awareness (consciousness), we will evolve mental capabilities that will allow much greater freedom in space/time than we have yet imagined. I believe the Universe is waiting for us, humans, to mature to the point where we can consciously travel to other places in the universe to propagate, nurture, and culture new life forms.

Well put, electricthot, a suggestively quantum answer to an interesting query on the nature of time and motion.

The concept of time is just useful for measuring change or the rate of change. Einstein taught us time is not constant. The rate of change, our experience of time, is subject to our velocity through space. If we were on a different planet in a different galaxy, our "year" would be different. Further, if black holes stretch the fabric of spacetime, time must be flexible. I am not suggesting time travel is possble-it is not. But our perception of time, and how we view and USE it, is subject to our thoughts. The present moment is all that exists, it is eternal. We cannot get out of the present moment no matter what we do. Change in our macro world emerges from the quantum field. But the field is subject to our thoughts, too. We exist in an entirely conceptual universe. A sea of information that is subject to consciousness. And we are evolving an awareness of it.
