I truly hope the writers actually read these postings.
I have watched Y & R for very many years. I love the consistency of the same characters remaining with the show.
I hate that these new writers ( new the last 5 -7 years ) have sent almost every character on the soap to jail. Now it is bad enough Sharon is in jail and now let's send Gloria and Cholie too! Let's see we have had Victor, Nick, Victoria, (GOSH) even John Abbott, Adam, Phylis, Daniel, Kevin, Jenna, Way back when Shiela, and truthfully I can't rmember them all, but IT PLEASE MUST STOP! It is not only boring and frustrating, but shows a tremendous weakness on the writer's part that all they can think of is to send the character to jail. They even had a day or two where Sophia was going to jail. Come on.. I realize this is a soap and the repetition rules about never repeating yourself more then three times is no longer a golden rule, but even in a soap there is such a thing as BAD WRITING! It kills me to think I am going to stop watching my favorite soap for years, ( Oh yeah Deacon was in jail and the ole hag Maggie ). I guess just about everyone has or is going to jail on the Young and The Restless. Sorry writers you have got to come up with some new story lines. Watching innocent people go to jail is not an entertaining story line. How old are you writers? Seems like there is some kind of writers block and for some reason you are stuck on low level unoriginal story lines. STick with the board room take overs, the Victor challenges, Baby LuLu, the huntings of Cane or is it his twin, who will Victor sleep with next? Hopefully Genie Francis. Brainstorm! let's give all your characters a get out of jail free pass and get on with some hot story lines.
