I recently registered that the giant round stool located in the Superdrug store in Stratford Upon Avon (11 High Street, CV37 6AU) is in fact what appears to be a well. I was curious as to why it was there and what its history was. I've tried to get hold of information through the internet, which was, not surprisingly, unsuccessful. Does anyone know anything about it?

I fail to see why I have taken great interest in it, but it is quite mysterious and intriguing...(and gives me something to research on the internet when I have time to kill, like today for example).
