A vet said I should give Sodium Benzoate to my parakeet as a treatment for Megabacteria, (Avian Gastric Yeast), 2 1/2 grams to 1 litre in the drinking water for one month. I asked two other vets if they had heard of this and neither had, the vet in question has not produced and research to that confirms this as a valid treatment. Has any one ever heard of this?
