A friend is building Monogram's B-29, and I speculated to him that, while the tail gunner's position has a seat for the mission flight, the distance to both the gunsight and the fire controls would have necessitated his leaning forward, even kneeling behind the armor plate, as tail gunners did in B-17's. Is this correct?
