A black and white striped sea urchin recently shot long spines into my thumb. I managed to pull one out, but the second one is still in. Purple ink was seeping out of the second spike. While trying to remove it, the thorn it self just shatters. I believe the tip might still be in there but can't seem to find it.

Should it be removed somehow or will it eventually disolve and heal?
My thumb is no longer swollen or throbbing. Although, it is a little sore and has a bump where the thorn should be.
