Hi All not sure any one can help me,
I am researching the 8th K.I. Hussars Military Band from
1875-1888 & their service in Meerut India
I Have contacted all the museums etc etc etc alas I have come up empty handed, as there appears to very little archives of their time in India

I know as a fact they were in Meerut India as my G/G/Dad
a JAMES CHARLES KING was the Bandmaster of the Military Band from 1884-1888 In fact he died in Meerut 1888. & is buried in the Meerut Cemetery

James passed his musical exams at Kneller Hall on 2 occasions Bandsman course 1870-1872 & 1881-1883 his Bandmaster course Musical Instruments played Oboe & clarinet

I know this is a complete shot in the dark, But if some one has any knowledge of the 8th Hussars I would be most grateful for any comments or any advise Many Thanks
