84' Dodge Rampage: Possible Rust Damage
I am considering buying a 84' Rampage that has been stored outside in the Florida Panhandle for several years. The location is about 250 miles from my home.
Before I drive to look at it, I would like to know what to expect in rust. The owner has mentioned that the front of the driver seat is not secure, but he has not looked to see if the floor under the seat has rusted away.
1)Is corrosion of the floor area a problem with Rampages? Are areas other than the floor known to rust away.
2)Is 'high strength steel' used in the structural areas?
This is good to know before attempting any repair using an oxy/acetlyne torch which would destroy the strength of any high strength steel.
