My Great-Great Grandfather(William Bunting b1798) joined the 22nd on the 19th April 1813 aged 14 at Stockport.Was there a depot/barracks/recruiting centre in Stockport?
He served in the West Indies from 5th February 1827 to 31st May 1833. 6years 115days.There were no wars I can find .What was the Regiment doing their?
I think he returned to Chatham.He sailed from Chatham on the 19th May 1834 and disembarked on the 3rd June 1834 at HULL.According to the paylists he remained at Hull till his dicharge on the 31st May 1836 aged 37.( He spent time in a Regimental Hospital).He served 22 years 208 days.
Was there a Headquarters/Barracks/Depot for the 22nd at HULL or was it a general establishment for all regiments.
