Richard Duke of Gloucester.

Richard Duke of York was his father and his nephew (as in, his father Richard held that title and the title was given in later years to his nephew, the younger son of his brother Edward IV. This Richard Duke of York became the second of the so-called 'Princes in the Tower'.

Sir Richard Ratcliff was a friend of Richard IIIs and was a statesman in Richard's time. He's the "rat" of the doggerel rhyme "The cat, the rat and Lovell the dog, rule all England under the Hog" - the cat being Dick Catesby, the dog being Francis Viscount Lovell (whose family sigil included a dog) and the Hog being Richard III whose sigil was a boar.

Richard II was the son of the Black Prince and the grandson and heir of Edward III. He was overthrown by his cousin, Henry of Bolingbroke, another of Edward III's descendents, who became Henry IV. Henry's grandson Henry VI was over-thrown by Edward IV who was also descended from Edward III.
