Hello, I have what I beliee to be a very early, possibly a 1930 solid body electric lap steel made by Regal Co. with the strangest puckup I've evre seen. It consists of two slabs of steel with only windings around one of the slabs and both pressure fitted into a metal housing which basicaly makes the whole assembly a single pickup. There are two very early pots, one for volume and the other for bass/treble. It has the most wonderful sound, that audiences describe as like "electric butter". I've taken it in to some vintage instrament dealers/experts, all of whom say they have never seen such a beast. I can't find any data about this instrament and I thought mabey some one out there has some info. Please feel free to e-mail me if you do. This guitar has been a God send as I've been able to hire out as a sit in slide player for various blues bands in the Cleveland,Kent area. I love music and I love this guitar, and I always welcome any chance to play. My e-mail is guyper@ix.netcom.com. Thanks, Guy
